About our Founder/CEO Jennifer Calderon

Jennifer Calderon is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #45687) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC #796) in California, as well as a CAMFT Certified Clinical Supervisor. She became licensed as an LMFT in 2008 and as an LPCC and CAMFT Certified Clinical Supervisor in 2014. Since then, she has expanded her professional practice through additional licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Oregon (T1996) in 2021, Nevada (4302-R) in 2022, and Arizona (16397) in 2025.

Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Cameron University, earned in 1999; a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, earned in 2001; and a Specialized Certificate in Play Therapy from the University of California, San Diego, earned in 2011.

 

Jennifer remains actively engaged in professional development and service to the mental health profession through her involvement with the Oregon Counseling Association (ORCA), the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), where she is an AAMFT Clinical Fellow, and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT).

 

Professional service is an important part of Jennifer’s commitment to the field. She currently serves as Chair of CAMFT’s Certified Supervisor Program Committee, a role she has held since 2023, and as the 2026 Board President of the San Fernando Valley CAMFT Chapter. She also enjoys supporting the professional growth of other clinicians by creating and providing continuing education opportunities as a CAMFT-approved CEPA provider, a role she has held since 2023.

With 26 years of experience in community mental health, Jennifer has had the privilege of providing individual, couple, and family therapy to children, adolescents, and adults across a variety of settings, including residential, outpatient, school-based, and home-based environments. Her extensive experience has allowed her to work with diverse populations and a broad range of clinical concerns while developing a practice grounded in compassion, collaboration, cultural humility, and evidence-based care.

As a Certified Play Therapist and evidence-based practitioner, Jennifer has specialized training and clinical experience in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Seeking Safety, Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She is passionate about supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges, helping clinicians strengthen their professional and clinical skills, and contributing to a mental health profession that is both clinically excellent and deeply compassionate.
